My journey with pottery began by chance. During my freshman year of college, I enrolled in a ceramics course on a whim and was immediately captivated by the medium. What started as curiosity quickly grew into a lifelong passion.
There is a certain magic in watching a vision come to life through your hands, in transforming a simple lump of clay into something beautiful, functional, and lasting.
Clay is alive. It holds memory, expands and contracts, responds to every touch, and is overly empathetic. It is both deeply collaborative and wonderfully unpredictable, demanding patience, intuition, and a willingness to embrace the unexpected.
In my practice, I am drawn to creating intricate vessels through unique forms, hand-carved textures, and cyanotype surface design. My work celebrates the beauty of everyday objects and the rituals that surround them. Whether it is a morning cup of coffee, a shared meal, or a vase holding freshly gathered flowers, I believe the objects we use daily have the power to enrich our lives. Each piece I create is an invitation to slow down, and celebrate the ordinary.
